THE CAROL J. GREER COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTER
The Sewing Guild of St. Stephen's Community Church helps support the Greer Center through the sale of its aprons. The Greer Center, part of the Outreach Mission of the Church, emphasizes technology education, balanced nutrition, physical fitness and social and emotional growth. The programs of the Center are family oriented with particular attention directed toward youth, single parents and mature adults. Technology instruction is supported by Power On and ITEC.
Through grants from foundations and agencies*, donations from businesses, contributions from members and friends of St. Stephen's and the SSCC Sewing Guild's contribution, one apron at a time, the Center has offered classes and other educational and growth experiences for youth and adults, including Seniors, every term since its 2009 initiation.
